KARLA KLARIN BIOGRAFÍA
Karla Klarin, a native of Los Angeles, attended the San Francisco Art Institute (BFA painting) and Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles (MFA, painting). As a child she lived in Italy and France where she was first exposed to art museums and fine art.
In San Francisco she studied with and was deeply influenced by Sam Tchakalian, a noted abstract expressionist. Although her main subjects are the California cityscape and landscape, she is not a realist. Her influences are every good painting she's ever seen, from Piet Mondrian to David Park and beyond. Increasingly her work walks a line between real world references and abstraction.
