JUDY CASSAB BIOGRAFÍA
 
Judy Cassab is an Australian artist who emigrated from Hungary in 1951. She was born in Vienna, Austria in 1920 to Hungarian parents. Her husband was put in a forced labour camp by the Nazis in World War II, and she returned to Hungary in 1944. As the only woman artist to win the Archibald Prize twice and having collected another 10 major art prizes, she received the C.B.E. in 1969. She has held more than fifty solo exhibitions in Australia, as well as others in Paris and London. On 14 June 1969 she was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in "recognition of service to the visual arts". On 26 January 1988, she was made an Officer of the Order of Australia again in "recognition of service to the visual arts". On 3 March 1995, she was awarded a Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) from Sydney University.
