1886-1939. Boris Dmitrievich Grigoriev studied at the Stroganov College 1903-07, at the Imperial Academy of Arts 1907-12 and at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris ca.1913. After his studies he was active in St. Petersburg until 1919, emigrated then via Finland and Berlin to Paris where he stayed until 1927 and then moved to Cagnes-sur-Mer, close to Nice. He also stayed in Santiago of Chile (1928-29 and 1936) and in New York (1935). He was a sought-after art teacher and was appointed Professor. He had exhibitions in Russia with the group "World of Art" and "Comradeship of Independents" during the 1910's and after 1921 he exhibited in Paris, London and New York among others. Grigoriev died in his villa in Cagnes-sur-Mer in 1939.
